The time is getting close

October is just one day away and The fall will be very busy for us. Our new apartment is finished, We will get the keys within a few days after we sign more papers and the inspection is approved. Talk about abstracts . Then comes moving day. In between all this I need to vote and fax in my absentee ballot. There's light fixtures buy, a frig. to buy  and a multitude of other small things to buy, Items to get turned off and others turned on, I think you get the idea. All this before the end of Oct. But I still want to keep painting! Well, as Laurie tells me "Take a deep breath, it will all work out" OK then I'll post my latest painting which I called "Red Dog".  A dog sniffing around this mechanical thing. as dogs will do, just before peeing on it and walking away.

Pyramid Scroll

Abstract painting 20x16 inches. Had fun creating this painting because I had no idea what I wanted to paint. I let the design take me and before long I could see how to complete the work. 

Blood Spill

This painting is called Blood Spill. I did the painting to show all the anguish and blood that is being spilled throughout the world. Thus the name. 20x20 digital painting & pencil sketch.

Looks Like Rain

It's even raining in Lima Peru. Well the weather people called it a light Drizzle. But I know it's raining in New Orleans today. So I took a weather map and turned it into an abstract and called it "Looks Like Rain". 12x12 digital painting.

Sky Valla

This is one of my latest Digital Abstract Paintings I called Sky Villa. As with almost all my abstracts, I start out with an idea and it turns into something else. That's alright though because the painting takes me along rather then the other way around. Then when I step  back and take a good look at my work, if I like what I see I take a closer look and there are shapes and features that I didn't know I did. How abstract can a person get? But it's true.

The Olympic Torch

I watched on TV the carrying of the Olympic torch yesterday for the beginning of the "Games" .

This morning I got up with wanting to do an abstract of The Olympic Torch. It's 12x18 inches digital painting.

As the month of July edges closer to August our new home gets closer to completion. Haven't been able to see the inside of our apartment since it's on the ninth floor and the elevators are not installed yet and I'm not going to climb up 9 floors, so we look at our balcony from the street. This gave me an idea for a painting  . This was one of the times that I got an idea for a painting instead of just starting and see where it takes me. I call it "First Light". I was experimenting with my digital painting program. Trying different ways to match what I have done with my airbrush and pallet knife. I was very happy with how the painting turned out.

I call it Dawn of Life

Now, what next? My mind is working in the background already.

Up late

I started this post late on Tues the 13th and hope to finish it early Wed, A lot of our friends are traveling right now so there's not a lot of action going on for us in Lima, so I busy myself by painting.

I feel the same way and my painting my not make sense to others but I really enjoy the freedom that Abstract painting gives me. It's shape, color, balance, the feeling one gets from looking at nature in the wild.
