These two quotes seem to talk to the same end. One must always be thinking, "what if?" Other wise it's easy to get in a rut or get stale. Creativity needs thinking outside of "good sense" or that box that everyone talks about. It is like looking for the perfect chord, or the perfect place. I love to paint without thinking about how the painting will look when I feel it's finished. But it's so easy for one's art to become "Deja Vu". Laurie is my best critic.
Yes, copying yourself IS dangerous, since the circle you draw from will get smaller and smaller.
